Screen Shots and Setup

Bellow is a screen shot of WTSLogParser.exe running on our server (we disabled the auto run for the screen shot).

Once configured your version should look like this screen shot.

Under Watches enter keywords like IP addresses, Domains, that you want a report detailing hits to your site from those keywords. We use the following keywords (.mil robots.txt register.htm ) click here to see a sample report.

We leave the Loop option off, and let Microsoft Task Manger run the app each hour.

Under the Export to Dir , WTSLogParser saves a .txt file of each report, if the HTML option is selected, a HTML page of the text file is saved. Then create a link on of your published pages to the Index_WTSLogParser.htm page, that the log parser created. The index page would look something like this. If you want to customize the page colors from the default colors use the HTML color picker under the menu View/Preferences.

Enabling "Resolve IPs Host Names" will slow down the first few runs of the application as it will resolve the IP host names across the network, it caches the results for three days, subsequent runs will be progressively faster as the cache builds.

The two preferences forms that show up in preferences allow you to set the colors of the HTML output reports. And which hits from search engines will be included in the search terms reports.

The HTML color picker has two main modes.

Set Colors or Inherited Colors.

Set colors allows you to choose the background and text colors.

or

if you choose "Use Settings from Website for each extract."  Paste into the URL textbox a valid website and the application will discover background colors and images, and discover text colors from the root page.
