Why
We wanted to find music and news items for our local radio station PlumasRadio.org. So we wrote a crawler to find mp3s for us to air.
Is it legal
We think so. All we want to do here is give people access to audio files that others want others to listen to.
I can find Copyright Stuff here
That's possible, if the owner wants it linked then great!. If not then we will remove it. We don't want to break any laws or rules here, so we will always respect their wishes. We want to promote the FREE (see creative commons) distribution of sounds and music ( the universal language). Not copyright stuff. If you want to promote a new way of music that goes back eons. Then promote this site and its cause, if you want to make money then you are probably better robbing a bank, or writing a hit song. Or writing a hit song about robbing a bank.
If you have copyright material and you do not want the link to appear here please email verifying information to the email address at the bottom of this page.
Some links are Broken
Yeh, that's gonna happen, by the time we re crawl a site the links are broken. Or some sites put the .mp3 extension on active pages so viewers will think (including our crawlers) that the link is a file, how ever it is really a link to a ad graphic. Don't like it? Nor do we. Add broken links to our broken links section to fix this. Other sites use rolling links to the same file, so what worked one day or click will not work the next, again report the site to us and we will remove or rescan the site.
Can I help this concept
That's pretty easy, Either click on the Ads, that helps a lot! We average about a cent per click, that is the only revenue to cover the Server Cost, The site cost, the Electricity, the programming, the addictions and a few other things that are under paid at this moment. You can also link to us. www.TheUltimateMP3List.Com. Or tell some one. You could also post links to be scanned, or just care. Or Visit WalltechNet.com and get a Domain Name there or something. You could also down load the TumpProcess.exe which uses distributive computing concepts to scan sites. It only runs from 1am to 4 am to protect network resources and takes use of computer down time at night. It really features some cool options like automatic downloads to you PC of audio files.
Is this for profit
Not really, our spouses think we are nuts for doing this, but boy would we sure look smart if it made a few bucks. We probably spend more time each day working on it than we will make in advertising in a lifetime. So please click on the advertising links that interest you. If we ever get rich, well, we will try to remember you. Think about that Joe Walsh song. Life's been good to me.
I have Songs/Files I want on the site
That's easy, just visit our submit link and paste your link there, if it does not show up by the next day, make sure your links end with .mp3, or let us know, we are always working on this thing.
The search part stinks
Yeh, we know. We were first trying to get the list of links online, and other thins, then this site took off and we cant keep up with the searches. Stick with us, we are working on some code that is so complex that at the very least if it does not fix the search engine, it should cure cancer.
I can't find a song
Well, that's just how it goes. see "The search part stinks", above.
We Mostly search just by the File Name as opposed to the Song, Selection name. So think of possible file names and try that. After we catch up on the links, we will include the ID3 tags on listed links, along with file size.
